Community Involvement
At Franklin Templeton Investments, we believe we have a responsibility to make our communities stronger and more vibrant places to live, work and do business. We strive to improve the quality of life by addressing vital community needs. Through direct contributions and the efforts of our dedicated employee volunteers, we work with over 300 nonprofit organizations and schools around the world each year.
Charitable Donations
Franklin Templeton Investments focuses our financial support on the causes and nonprofit organizations that are important to our employees. Through our Employee Matching Gifts Program and our Corporate Giving, employees may request donations for eligible charitable organizations and accredited schools. Requests for funding should be submitted by a Franklin Templeton employee, who can access the funding guidelines and procedures from the Community Relations department.
Employee Volunteers
Through Involved, Franklin Templeton's global employee volunteer program, our employees share their time and talent to address critical needs in our local communities around the world - from park restoration to tutoring, serving meals to building low income housing. If your charitable organization is located near one of our offices and has volunteer opportunities that may be of interest to our employees, please email the details to involved@frk.com for consideration.
Involved in Action
Below are just a few examples of the ways our Involved volunteers try to make a difference in our communities:
Edinburgh and London, United Kingdom
Employees in Franklin Templeton Investments' London and Edinburgh offices selected two children's hospitals to receive support through the Holiday Charity Campaign. Through donations of both gifts and funds, these efforts brought some holiday cheer to children whose illnesses prevented them from enjoying the holiday at home.
Hyderabad, India
Employees in Hyderabad adopted a local government-run school to help ensure that it received much-needed resources. Working closely with teachers and the school administrator, the group was able to make some notable improvements. Some of the efforts were very practical, like turning the electricity back on and organizing a medical clinic. Other activities were designed simply to bring joy and fun to the children, like a singing contest and a sports day.
St. Petersburg, Florida
Franklin Templeton Investments' office in St. Petersburg worked with the Doorways Mentoring Program to help ensure local at-risk youth have a caring adult influence in their lives. In addition to providing corporate funding for the program, the company helped pair employee mentors one-on-one with middle school students. Volunteers coordinated an annual school supply drive and a golf tournament, the proceeds of which helped fund college scholarships for Doorways graduates.
San Mateo, California
More than 750 employees and community members came together at the company's headquarters for the annual Franklin Templeton Memorial Race. Started in 2002 to honor our employees lost in the World Trade Center attacks, each year this run/walk benefits a local community nonprofit. The 2006 event supported Friends for Youth, an award-winning youth mentoring program.
