Financial Rewards

Providing a mix of both monetary and non-monetary rewards in exchange for your time, talents, efforts - your Total Rewards - is what makes working for Franklin Templeton Investments more than just a job or paycheck. Understanding the financial component of your rewards can contribute to deciding if a job/company is the right match.

Some of the Financial Rewards of a career with Franklin Templeton Investments include:1

Pay for Performance

Our Pay For Performance philosophy consists of a combination of base and incentive pay, both of which are designed to pay all employees within competitive market ranges based on individual performance and contributions.

Base Pay is the salary employees receive on a regular basis for performing their job duties. Employees are paid a competitive salary, based on the local market and individual competencies and responsibilities. Market conditions and overall company performance may also influence base pay.

Incentive Pay (or Bonus program) is also part of our financial rewards. Most roles are eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan, whereby bonuses may be paid out at the end of the fiscal year. There are many factors that influence whether or not an employee receives a bonus and if so, how much the bonus will be. These factors include overall corporate performance, department performance and individual performance. The objective of the Incentive Plan is to provide the greatest rewards to our top-performers.

Retirement Planning

Franklin Templeton Investments offers employees several ways for U.S. employees to save for retirement.

Through investment in our 401(k) plan, you will be able to build towards your retirement dreams using both the traditional 401(k) and/or Roth 401(k) options. By saving a little at a time through convenient payroll deductions and employer matching contributions, you will be able to take charge of your retirement planning. Enrollment can begin as early as the first of the month following your date of hire.

Employee Stock Plan

Our Employee Stock Investment Plan (ESIP) provides employees with the opportunity to purchase Franklin Resources, Inc. (BEN) common stock at a 15% discount off the market value.

Discount Fund Purchase

Working at one of the premier global investment management companies in the world comes with the opportunity to reap investment rewards. Employees and family members can purchase shares of designated Franklin Templeton Investments managed funds at the current net asset value (without the sales charge).

Flexible Spending

A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows you to pay for a variety of out-of-pocket expenses (like day care and medical bills) with pre-tax money through the convenience of payroll deductions.

Franklin Templeton Investments offers two types of FSAs:

  • A Health Care Reimbursement Account provides you the benefit of setting aside up to $5,000 per plan year, on a pre-tax basis, to cover eligible health care expenses not reimbursed by medical, dental, or vision care plans.
  • A Dependent Care Reimbursement Account provides you the benefit of setting aside pre-tax dollars, up to $5,000 per plan year, from your paychecks to cover eligible expenses incurred for the care of a person who is under the age of 13 and can be claimed as a tax exemption for federal tax purposes. You may also use an FSA for the care of any dependent who is deemed mentally or physically unable to care for himself or herself.
