529 Gift Contributions

Give the gift that last a lifetime — a gift of education. Whether you’re the Account Owner asking for gifts for your children, or the Gift-Giver giving a gift to a college-bound child, you can make a difference.

Gift Giving Process

Many of our Account Owners have family and friends (non-account owners) who have expressed a desire to contribute to their loved ones’ Franklin Templeton 529 accounts1. With information like account number, payee name and address, anyone can make a contribution (minimum $25) by:

  • sending handwritten checks in the mail or
  • setting up a contribution with their banks’ bill pay services.

With either method, one-time and recurring contributions, or “payments,” can be made2.

All contributions become the property of the Account Owner regardless of who makes the contribution and the gift will be invested according to the Account Owner’s instructions.
