Fort Lauderdale, Florida, June 2, 2008. Templeton Dragon Fund, Inc. (the "Fund") (NYSE: TDF), a closed-end management investment company, today announced the results of voting at the Fund's Annual Meeting of Shareholders held on May 30, 2008. Shareholders voted to approve the election of directors. Shareholders also voted to reject a shareholder proposal to request that the Board of Directors consider approving, and submitting for shareholder approval at a future shareholders' meeting, a proposal to convert the Fund from a closed-end fund to an open-end fund.
The Fund is designed for investors seeking long-term capital appreciation. Under normal market conditions, the Fund invests at least 45% of its total assets in the equity securities of "China companies." The Fund's investment manager is Templeton Asset Management Ltd. and Mark Mobius is the Fund's principal portfolio manager. The Fund currently has total assets in excess of $1.2 billion.
