In leading Putnam, Shep is responsible for investment management, research, trading, and global business strategy functions. This includes oversight of Putnam's portfolio and research teams and processes, risk and quantitative teams, client portfolio managers, thought leadership, sustainability initiatives and policies, and the strategy team.

Kate is responsible for managing Putnam’s analyst team, which covers all sectors and regions. She directs research initiatives, ensures quality of the research team's output, guides sustainability integration within research, and facilitates collaboration between Putnam's equity portfolio managers and the Putnam Research team.
