Overview
Fund Facts
Fund description
The fund seeks total return (including income and capital gains) while seeking to manage volatility. The fund is primarily invested in a “core portfolio,” which includes a diversified set of predominately US equity and fixed income strategies. In seeking to manage the fund's volatility, the investment manager seeks to minimize potential dramatic and rapid price swings which could be experienced by the “core portfolio,” so that fund volatility does not exceed its target of 10% per year.

Distributions & Tax
- Distribution Frequency
- AnnuallyThis fund is an ex-Dividend fund
Final composition of the current year’s distribution—income, capital gains and/or return of capital—are based on US tax rules and will be determined by February of the following year. For tax characterization of a distribution, such as return of capital and tax-exempt income, click on the “Tax Information” tab above.
Distributions Per Share Distributions with future dates are estimates and those figures are not final
Annually, a fund must distribute all realized capital gains net of realized losses, so the fund will not be subject to an entity level income tax. A fund’s capital gain distribution in a particular year may be a result of the disposition of holdings that appreciated in value during prior years. Thus, while the fund may gain or lose value over the course of a year, a capital gain distribution paid by the fund may not be indicative of current performance of the fund.
The distributable amount of net capital gains are paid on a per-share basis to all investors who hold shares of the fund on the record date of the distribution and are recognized by the shareholder for tax purposes as of the ex-date of the distribution, regardless of when the gains or losses arose in the fund. Net gains on holdings held long term by the fund would be distributed to shareholders as a long-term capital gain distribution no matter how long the shareholder has owned shares in the fund.
Refer to the fund’s annual report or statement of additional information for specific information regarding distributions.

Risks
All investments involve risks, including possible loss of principal. There can be no guarantee that the fund will stay within its target volatility. There can be no guarantee that the fund's volatility strategy will be successful, and achieving the fund's volatility strategy does not mean the fund will achieve a positive or competitive return. The volatility strategy can also be expected to limit the fund’s participation in market price appreciation when compared to similar funds that do not attempt this strategy. Equity securities are subject to price fluctuation and possible loss of principal. Fixed income securities involve interest rate, credit, inflation and reinvestment risks, and possible loss of principal. As interest rates rise, the value of fixed income securities falls. Derivative instruments can be illiquid, may disproportionately increase losses, and have a potentially large impact on performance. Investments in underlying funds are subject to the same risks as, and indirectly bear the fees and expenses of, the underlying funds. The manager may consider environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria in the research or investment process; however, ESG considerations may not be a determinative factor in security selection. In addition, the manager may not assess every investment for ESG criteria, and not every ESG factor may be identified or evaluated. These and other risks are discussed in the fund’s prospectus.

A target volatility is not total return performance — the investment manager does not expect, nor does it represent, that the strategy's total return performance would be any specific level or within any specified range or provide competitive returns. It is possible that the strategy could meet a target volatility level while having negative performance returns.
The actual volatility that the strategy experiences may be significantly higher or lower than that sought by the investment manager at any time and for any period of time. The use of derivative instruments in an effort to adjust exposures may at times increase volatility, for reasons including the economic leveraging effect of those instruments. In addition, the managed volatility strategy could limit the fund's performance in rising markets and may expose the fund to costs to which it would otherwise not have been exposed.
