Albert Chan, CFA

Albert Chan, CFA, is a Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager, and Head of Portfolio Construction at Franklin Templeton Fixed Income, Broad Markets. He is a portfolio manager for Short Duration, Core, Core Plus, Multisector, and Global Alpha strategies, with responsibility for portfolio construction, sector allocation, and implementation.

Prior to Franklin Templeton, Mr. Chan spent more than 20 years at Putnam Investments. He was a strategist and portfolio manager on the global macro team, focusing on G10 interest rate term structure strategies, and led systematic research across G10 rates, investment grade credit, and emerging market local markets. He later served as Head of Portfolio Construction, responsible for strategic and tactical sector allocation within multisector fixed income strategies. Earlier in his career, he worked in quantitative research and high yield trading.

Mr. Chan holds a Master of Financial Engineering from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from Simon Fraser University. He is a CFA charter holder.
