Benjamin Joseph leads the transition of Franklin Templeton's offering towards sustainability. Benjamin works with the firm's specialist investment managers, globally and across asset classes, to enhance sustainability integration into investment processes and develop innovative sustainable investment solutions in keeping with regional regulatory requirements. Benjamin is a voting member of the ESG Product Advisory Group (EPAG) and the Global Product Committee (GPC). He is also a voting member of Franklin Templeton FinTech Incubator investment committee for sustainability-related start-ups and the business sponsor of Franklin Templeton Singapore FinTech Incubator's investment in an impact investment & analytics fintech helping to close the UN SDG financing gap.
Benjamin joined from Morningstar where he was a key contributor to Morningstar's sustainable fund research effort and a senior manager research analyst specialised in fixed income investment strategies. Before joining Morningstar, he spent five years in the start-up ecosystem including two years managing a global commodities research company in Paris, France and Geneva, Switzerland. Prior to that, he spent six years in the hedge fund industry as an analyst and a fund of hedge funds portfolio manager in Paris, France and New York, USA. He entered the asset management industry in 2005.
Benjamin holds a specialized postgraduate degree in Financial Techniques from ESSEC Business School, a master's in Business Administration and a bachelor of science degree in Economics and Managementfrom Université Paris-Dauphine, and a Bachelor of science degree in International Business from Regent's Business School London. He is also a Chartered alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) and holds the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing.
