Christian J. Galipeau is head market strategist at the Franklin Templeton Institute, where he serves as one of the firm's foremost voices on global capital markets, economic trends, and investment strategy. Drawing on the deep intellectual capital of Franklin Templeton's autonomous investment teams, Chris synthesizes complex market dynamics into clear, actionable perspectives for distribution teams, financial advisors, and senior leadership. He leads high-impact client presentations, provides strategic market commentary, and represents the Franklin Templeton Institute's investment views across a wide range of internal and external forums.

Chris brings more than 30 years of investment industry experience to his role, anchored by an entrepreneurial career that spans equity research, portfolio management, and multi-asset strategy.

He began his career in 1992 as Marketing Director at Fidelity Investments, before founding Alpha Equity Research in 1994. As President, Chris built Alpha into a leading institutional research firm known for its rigorous combination of fundamental and technical analysis and its direct, high-value engagement with portfolio managers across the United States. His research excellence earned him national recognition — he was named the top-ranked equity research provider in the United States by CNN/Money Magazine in 2002, a distinction that reflects the analytical depth and client focus he has carried throughout his career. Following his tenure at Alpha, Chris served as Director of Equity Research and Portfolio Manager at DG Capital Management before joining Putnam Investments, whereas Senior Market Strategist and Team Leader of Capital Market Strategies within the Global Investment Strategies group, he shaped the firm's macro market narrative and guided multi-asset strategy communications across a broad institutional client base. He has been a member of the Franklin Templeton family since Putnam's integration into the firm.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Salem State University and an M.B.A. from the University of New Hampshire. He is a member of CFA Society Boston and the Market Technicians Association and holds his Series 7 and Series 63 licenses with FINRA.
