Matthew Cioppa, CFA

Matthew Cioppa is a vice president, portfolio manager and research analyst with Franklin Equity. Mr. Cioppa is a co-lead portfolio manager of the Franklin Technology Fund, and he heads Franklin Equity's Technology and Communications Research Team, supporting the integration of sector research across the group's various equity strategies. As a research analyst Mr. Cioppa covers the IT infrastructure software and cybersecurity industries.

Mr. Cioppa has 16 years of combined experience as an investor and as an operator in the software industry. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2015 he spent time in sell side equity research covering the media and entertainment industry, and at a financial software provider as a consultant and product specialist.

Mr. Cioppa holds a M.B.A from Columbia Business School and a B.S. in Finance from Providence College. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.
