Ex-Dividend Fund: This type of fund declares periodic dividends, which are paid to shareholders who own the fund as of a certain date - known as the "record date". After the record date, the fund is said to be trading "ex-dividend"(literally, without the dividend). An investor who buys shares during the interval between the record date and the payment of the dividend does not receive the dividend.
